The Dash dropped their second straight match 2-0, at the hands of FC Kansas City Saturday night at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Forward Liz Bogus put Kansas City on the board first in the 41st minute. Bogus capitalized on a clearance finding herself at the top of the box and ripped a strike to the bottom corner past Bianca Henninger
Shea Groom headed home Bogus's cross in the 52nd minute, to put FCKC ahead for good. The goal marked the first of Groom's professional career.
Two minutes after the goal, Melissa Henderson headed Jessica McDonald's cross off the crossbar in what ended up being Houston's best chance of the night.
The match marked the final appearance for Canadians Erin McLeod, Allysha Chapman and Lauren Sesselmann before departing for the World Cup. McLeod did not play due to injury, Lauren Sesselmann was an unused substitute while Allysha Chapman played the full 90 minutes.
The Dash have a bye next week and will return to BBVA Compass Stadium May 15 to host the Chicago Red Stars. FC Kansas City will look to continue their two-game winning streak against the Western New York Flash next Friday.
