Houston Dash vs Sky Blue FC Final Score: Dash draw Sky Blue FC 1-1 with late equalizer

Allie Bailey's second half equalizer saw the Dash draw Sky Blue FC 1-1, for the second time this season. With the tie the Dash move up and take sole possession of ninth place in the league table. Bailey's goal came on the brink of defeat with four minutes left in match. Bailey rebounded Tiffany McCarty's initial shot past Sky Blue goal keeper Brittany Cameron for her first professional goal.

Hayley Haagsma opened the scoring for Sky Blue FC in the 11 minute. Off of a Katy Freels corner kick Kristin Grubka headed a ball across the face of goal to Haagsma and the defender finished the play with a header of her own past Dash keeper Bianca Henninger for a 1-0 lead.

A series of missed opportunities kept the Dash from equalizing earlier in the match, for a later chance at victory.

The Dash had another  glorious opportunity to equalize in the 76th minute when Rachel Axon was taken down in the box by Meg Morris. McDonald stepped up to the spot and drove her shot to the right side of goal, Cameron dove to her right block to the penalty. Brittany Bock nearly got on the board for the Dash heading an Kealia Ohai free kick on target but Cameron got a hand on it and deflected the attempt off the crossbar. Ohai nearly leveled the match herself in the 25th minute when her free kick from 30 yards out forced Cameron to make a diving save.

Next up, the Dash take on rival Portland Thorns June 6, at BBVA Compass Stadium. Sky Blue FC will look to rebound on the road against Seattle Reign FC next Saturday.
