Cubo Watch
According to a report from Cancha.com Erick Cubo Torres is still unable to leave Mexico to join the Houston Dynamo. Reportedly he has been training on his own in an attempt to be ready to go should his work visa finally be approved. The report also says that Torres is still confident he will be able to join the team before July 10. However, there are conflicting reports that say he is expected to join the Dynamo on July 8, but hasn't told the team of his exact arrival date. Those reports don't clearly state if Torres has had his visa approved yet.
Torres has not been called-up by Mexico for any of the Internaional games they have going on this summer.
Women's World Cup
The Quarterfinals of the WWC did not fail to entertain over the weekend as Germany, the USA, Japan and England all advanced to the Semifinals. The Quarterfinal game between France and Germany may have been the best game of the tournament that came down to penalty kicks which Germany won. The USA played their best game of the tournament in a game that saw two of their star players sit out due to yellow card accumulation. Jill Ellis will have a tough decision to make going forward to go with what worked last game or to go with she has done all tournament long. Part of what worked last game was starting Houston Dash rookie Morgan Brian who played great on the field with her Dash teammate Carli Lloyd, who was the lone goal scorer of the game.

Australia played a great game against Japan, but fell just short as Japan moves on to the Semifinals. Also falling short was host Canada who fell to England. The backline wasn't strong enough to hold up against the English attack and they fell 2-1.

Twitter Banter
Becky Sauerbrunn took over the USWNT Twitter account to answer questions from fans including a great one that involved knocking out Morgan Brian to save her in a fire.
