USA vs Germany

This match-up should prove to be the toughest test for the United States so far this tournament. While the USWNT looked a bit stale in the group stage they looked like an attacking team that could win the World Cup against China. Head Coach Jill Ellis was forced into roster changes after Megan Rapinoe and Lauren Holiday had to sit out the match against China due to yellow card accumulation. Starting in their places were Kelley O'Hara and Morgan Brian also starting was Amy Rodriguez while Amy Wambach stayed on the bench.

Nadine Angerer came up huge for Germany in their win over France. The game went to penalty kicks which they won 5-4. It looked like France might get the regulation time win until striker Celia Sasic tied things up in the 84th minute. Sasic has six goals in five matches played this tournament. Germany look venerable against France and they may have given the US some insight in how to beat the top ranked team in the world.
