Giovinco Reigns Supreme Again in Fantasy MLS Round 23

A double gameweek score of 28 points puts the Atomic Ant in a league of his own for points this week in Fantasy MLS.

Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Good god Gio, these people have families.

If you captained Sebastian Giovinco this week, you reaped the benefits of what could be the largest one-week MLS Fantasy score of 56 points with that double bonus. New York Red Bulls defender Kemar Lawrence was a distant second place with a still impressive 15 points while Vancouver's Jordan Harvey halved Giovinco's total with 14. It was a good week for Toronto FC in the fantasy department in general as five players definitely piggy-backed off Giovinco, earning scores in the double digits.

The rough times continue for the Colorado Rapids and owners of Axel Sjoberg, who put up an emphatic -2 points thanks to a red card and conceding two goals. The goals dried up for Cyle Larin who had five goals in his past two games before Orlando's loss to Toronto this past week.

Sporting Kansas City's Benny Feilhaber is your number two in overall points scored this year in FMLS with 161, 12 behind Giovinco. He put up another impressive showing of 12 points, moving his total to three goals and three assists in the last four games. He'll be the most sought after player these coming weeks if you haven't got him in your team already due to the fact that he's got back-to-back home games and a double game week next round against lowly San Jose Earthquakes and the Columbus Crew.

This might be a week where you need to look ahead to Round 25. No teams have a DGW this week before San Jose, SKC, Columbus and NYCFC hit the pitch twice next round. The high-flying Red Bulls will take on Giovinco and Toronto FC this week, pitting the top two fantasy players of last week against each other, but it is without a doubt that Giovinco is the go-to again this round.

Also, sending a big shout out to Paisley SC, who sits second overall in FMLS standings and first in our Dynamo Theory Classic and H2H Leagues. Doing us proud!
