BBVA Compass Stadium to host Olympic qualifying while the United States plays their group games in Frisco, TX.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

It was announced Wednesday that the United States will host the CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship 2016. The games will be played in Houston and Frisco, Texas.

BBVA Compass Stadium, home to the Houston Dash of the NWSL and the Houston Dynamo of MLS, will host the game in Houston while Toyota Stadium, home to FC Dallas of MLS, will host the games in Frisco.

Eight nation's will be competing in the event  and will be divided into two groups of four, with the top two finishers in each group after round-robin play advancing to the semifinals. The round-robin stage of the tournament will be conducted with three doubleheaders in each group. The top two finishers in the tournament will qualify for  the 2016 Women's Olympic Football Tournament. The United States, Canada and Mexico will be three of the teams participating in the tournament.

The USWNT hasn't played at BBVA Compass Stadium since December 12, 2012 when they defeated China in front of over 15,000 fans. As part of Group A the USWNT will be playing their group matches  in Frisco, TX so fans in Houston will have to wait until the Semifinals for a chance to see the defending World Cup Champions provided they advance out of their group.
