After a game against Washington that many would rather not remember, the Houston Dash will try to rebound Friday night in front of a hometown crowd against Sky Blue FC. After an injury forced Erin McLeod to the bench against Washington, the Dash struggled to regroup. The absence of Morgan Brian in the line-up was greatly felt, as well as the defensive struggles.
The return of the National Team members has helped both teams; with the return of Kelley O'Hara adding to Sky Blue's ability to score. Only playing 6 games, she has already tied with Nadia Nadim for the second most goals scored (3) for the team. Kay Freels leads the team with five. For Houston, the return of Carli Lloyd and Erin McLeod to the line-up has turned the team into both a goal-scoring and goal-stopping threat.
Sky Blue currently sits 8th in the standings with a shot at the playoffs becoming a distant dream, while Houston sits 4th with each game becoming critical to maintaining a shot at the playoffs.
