Midfielder Leonel Miranda Returns to Dynamo

Even in preseason the Houston Dynamo brass has been at it trying to find ways to improve the roster. The Dynamo recently signed central midfielder David Rocha and defender Agus, but the moves weren't over as we near the start of a new year in MLS. The club announced the return of versatile wide midfielder Leonel Miranda who comes back to Houston on another 1 year loan agreement with an option to extend the loan.

Miranda played 20 games for the Dynamo last season including 11 starts and 3 starts in the US Open Cup. The Argentine midfielder was confident on both the left and right wide positions and was excellent at keeping his heels on the chalk - or spreading the width of the field. Miranda is a strong passer with excellent vision and he works well on both sides of the ball, is unselfish, and is another option for set pieces.

With the departure of Brad Davis to rival Sporting Kansas City, the Dynamo are in need of versatile wide players. Currently the Dynamo could utilize Andrew Wenger, Oscar Boniek Garcia, Rob Lovejoy, or Alex Lima out wide - or potentially Giles Barnes, but this was a good re-signing. Miranda is familiar with the club, many of the players, and most importantly he has a year of MLS under his belt.

Currently in MLS Miranda has 2 goals and 1 assists including this beauty:
