Houston Dynamo Captain Brad Davis is on his way out of Houston and is headed to Sporting Kansas City. In exchange for Davis, the Dynamo will receive Kansas City's selections in the 2nd round of the 2017 SuperDraft and their 3rd round selections in the 2018 SuperDraft. While it may seem like the Dynamo are walking away with little, the move opens up significant cap room to sign newer players. Davis's name was linked to Sporting Kansas City earlier last year, but it took until the New Year for the deal to get done.

Davis has been with the Dynamo since they moved to Houston from San Jose and quickly established himself as one of the premier players in MLS. His leadership, vision on the field, and service was recognized by both our former head coach Dominic Kinnear and current manager Owen Coyle.

It won't be the same without Brad Davis in Dynamo orange, but this is part of the evolution of the club and how it is beginning to forge a new identity. The club made a few big moves by acquiring Philadelphia Union players Andrew Wenger and Cristian Maidana which made Davis's services more expendable.

Davis will remain one of the all-time Dynamo greats and has made history in Houston time and time again. What are some of your favorite memories of Davis in Houston or your reactions to the trade? Let us know in the comments below.
