Houston Dynamo players, current and former, took to Twitter to express displeasure over non-hire.

Wednesday, it was announced that Wade Barrett would not be offered the full time head coaching gig with the Houston Dynamo. If you missed it - Barrett took over as the interim coach 20 games into the 2016 season after Owen Coyle decided to head back to England to be near his family (not because of the new coaching gig he got there, nope, that’s not why he left at all). While the team showed improvement under Barrett the team still finished last in the Western Conference.

Many thought that Barrett would be given a shot at the gig permanently after the season ended. However, the team isn’t giving him the gig citing that they want to bring in someone with experience.

But how to the players feel about it? Well several took to Twitter to let everyone know that they wanted Barrett as their head coach.

It wasn’t just the current players who expressed disappointment. Former players Stuart Holden and Geoff Cameron also tweeted about the decision with Cameron taking aim at the front office.

Cameron didn’t stop there.

Barrett has reportedly been offered another position in the club but is taking some time to think about the offer.
