The Houston Dash will kick off the 2016 season at home against the Chicago Red Stars. The April 16 game doesn't have a kickoff time yet but it will be the first chance for fans to see the team back in action after what feels like a very long offseason.

Individual tickets aren't on sale yet but fans can buy season tickets and catch all of the team's home games this year.

Melissa Henderson un-retires

On Tuesday, Henderson announced that she will be coming out of retirement for the 2016 season. After the 2015 season ended the forward announced that she would be hanging up her cleats for good. However, Henderson changed her mind and has decided to come back to the Dash for another season.

"I'm really excited about Melissa coming out of retirement. I was shocked when I received her phone call about this, but I should have known that she wasn't finished with her playing career," Dash head coach Randy Waldrum said in the team press release. "Having known her for so many years, I know how competitive and driven she is. I'm excited for the Dash because Melissa brings so much to our team. She is a great ambassador for the Dash, women's football and for the way she lives her life. I know our fans are going to be excited about this news."

Dash sign Cami Privett

On February 12 it was announced that the Dash have signed Cami Privett. The midfielder is not unfamilar to Dash fans as she made four appearances for the Dash last season. She participated in tryouts in February of last year and was later offered an amateur contract with the club. She made her debut for the team against FC Kansas City on May 2, 2015.

In July of 2015, Privett went to Norway to play for Kolbotn IL.  She scored seven goals in 11 matches for the club.
