It has been announced that the Houston Dynamo have traded a conditional third draft pick for Abdoulie Mansally. The Gambian international had played for Real Salt Lake since he was released by the New England Revolution in May of 2012.
During his time at Real Salt Lake he served mostly as a back up left back, a role he may continue to fill with Houston. Due to injures and international call ups as RSL, Mansally saw more first time minutes last season which saw his skills improve. He scored one goal during in his time with RSL. During his time with the Revolution, Mansally played in 89 games and scored 7 goals.
Mansally was on the roster for the Gambia National Football Team during qualifying in 2008 for the 2010 World Cup. He came off the bench in the qualifier against Algeria to earn his first cap. He has a total of 13 caps with the National team since then.
Mansally has a green card in the US and is considered a domestic player in the league.
