Jurgen Klinsmann has unveiled his 22-man roster for the US men's national team's first Copa America warm-up game and a training camp this week ahead of it. The match—on Sunday against Puerto Rico—will not feature any MLS players, as they will be playing with their clubs until May 23rd, when those players who were named on the 40-man preliminary roster join the camp for friendlies against Bolivia and Ecuador.
Each player on this roster is based in Europe or Mexico. Some other non-MLS players remain with their clubs as well: Omar Gonzalez, Ventura Alvarado and Edgar Castillo are in the Liga MX playoffs, Timmy Chandler is attempting to keep Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, Christian Pulisic is with Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal Final and Ethan Horvath is still in season with Norwegian club Molde.
Klinsmann issued one of those statements nobody reads:
"We are doing this week in Miami and finishing off the week with a game in Puerto Rico because it’s really important in terms of transitioning our players coming in from Europe and some who are already done in Mexico to keep them in a flow, to keep them in a rhythm," said Klinsmann. "One of our lessons from last year’s Gold Cup was because the tournament was pushed into July, we couldn’t transition our European-based players and some of the Mexican players perfectly."
"We added some players coming from the younger side to look at them and to get a roster together, but the main purpose of this camp is to keep the rhythm, keep going and to transition perfectly into the preparation for the Copa America Centenario."
The game will be played at 11 p.m. CT on Fox Sports 1 in Bayamòn, Puerto Rico at the home of future NASL side Puerto Rico FC. Klinsmann will hold his camp in Miami.
Here's the roster:

Julian Green makes an appearance for the first time since April 2015, while Fabrice Picault, Paul Arriola, Amando Moreno, Caleb Stanko and Zack Steffen will make their debut for the senior team.
After successful seasons in Europe, DeAndre Yedlin, Bobby Wood, Alejandro Bedoya and Fabian Johnson have basically secured their spots in the final roster. Players like Perry Kitchen, John Brooks, Eric Lichaj, Matt Miazga and Matt Orozco will look to use this "transition camp" to get on the final squad.
