Houston Dash vs Orlando Pride Match Recap: Dash drop second straight loss to the Orlando Pride

Kristen Edmonds netted the game winner for Orlando in the 81st minute, the lone highlight in an otherwise ugly match.

The Houston Dash dropped their second straight game 1-0 the Orlando Pride on Friday night at BBVA Compass Stadium. Houston was held scoreless for the third time this season, the result of a pretty ugly game for both teams.

Orlando pulled out the victory with a late goal in the 81st minute. Kristen Edmonds received a cross from Lianne Sanderson just outside the box and launched a strike off the bottom of the crossbar and past Lydia Williams for the game winner.

Alex Morgan nearly broke the deadlock for the Pride three minutes earlier with a clear header on goal. Morgan found herself wide open and on the end of Josee Belanger's free kick, but Allysha Chapman cleared her header off the goal line.

Houston's offense again lacked the ability to finish in the final third, a troubling trend which has plagued the Dash this season. Amber Brooks had a decent chance at goal in the final minutes, launching a from well outside the box but Ashlyn Harris stood her ground for an easy stop. The Dash were offside five times in the first half and continued the trend in the second half and finished the match with seven, the most notable offender being forward Kealia Ohai. Ohai, who finished second in scoring for the Dash last season has still yet to find the back of the net in 2016.

Orlando's victory marked the first road win in franchise history.

The Dash will look to end their two-game losing streak next Friday against the Washington Spirit, a rematch of last week's loss.
