Giles Barnes up for MLS Goal of the Week

Giles Barnes is nominated for the MLS Goal of the Week.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Giles Barnes is nominated for the AT&T Goal of the Week for his one touch goal against Sporting Kansas City. The goal helped propel the Houston Dynamo to a 2-0 win on Saturday. Barnes is facing off against Juan Agudelo in the first round of voting.

If you haven't voted yet this season you may notices that voting is a little different this year. Instead of regular poll style voting the nominees will be paired up and face each other each day. The quarterfinal winners will advance to the semis, and the two semifinal winners will face off in a final. Voting runs all week long with the winner announced on Friday. The voting breaks down as follows:

Monday: Voting for quarterfinals begins
Tuesday, 11:55 pm ET: Voting for quarterfinals ends, semifinal vote begins
Wednesday, 11:55 pm ET: Voting for semifinals ends, final vote begins
Thursday, 11:55 pm ET: Voting for final ends
Friday: Winner announced
