Houston Dynamo vs DC United Preview: Dynamo ready to take on DCU

Dynamo host DCU on Star Wars night.

The Houston Dynamo are hoping to use the momentum from a big 4-0 USOC win to propel them past DC United. The Dynamo home game will be Star Wars night at BBVA Compass Stadium.

The Dynamo have struggled this season but things have been looking up since the departure of Owen Coyle. The Dynamo handed over the reins to Wade Barrett and have seen two draws (On the road!) and a USOC win. They are still sitting last in the Western Conference with just 13 points.

While their USOC game against San Antonio FC might have been a bit dull the Dynamo scored four goals and built some much needed confidence. The lineup was a mix of young and old players giving Barrett a great look at some of the young talent on his roster.

The Dynamo should have their full arsenal of players available now that Giles Barnes has returned from playing with the Jamaican national team. Barnes might not have scored on the road yet for the Dynamo this season but he has when they are playing at home. He already has four goals this season.

Before the Dynamo was moved to the Western Conference they faced DCU more than once in the playoffs. DC United has fared somewhat better this season with 16 points so far. DC will bring two former Dynamo players with them in Bobby Boswell and Tally Hall. Boswell is a key defender for United as well as their captain while Hall is currently their backup goalkeeper.

If you are planning on taking METRO to the game make sure to flash your game ticket and ride for free. Things kick off June 18 at 7:45 pm CT.
