The Houston Dash are headed to Orlando to face the Orlando Pride for a Thursday evening game at Camping World Stadium. The Dash currently have two losses to the new coming team both home and away and are hoping to show that they have what it takes to finally pull a win against the Pride.
The ladies head into the Thursday match on a four game losing streak and are close to the point where they have literally everything on the line if they want to have any hope of a season where they see the playoff schedule with their club on it. The Dash’s last win came over a month ago on May 7 against reigning champions FC Kansas City.
Sunday saw a pretty defensive match between the Dash and FCKC, but the end result was a Kansas City win- only their second of the season. The Dash had much of the control throughout the game, but couldn’t capitalize on big moments that were brought by Allysha Chapman, Janine Beckie, and Rachel Daly. The only goal of the match was scored in the 80th minute as Becky Sauerbrunn headed in the game winning goal for FCKC. The Dash fought the final ten minutes of the game plus stoppage time, but couldn’t quite force the draw with an equalizing goal.
The Dash currently sit second to last on the standings just above Boston Breakers while the Pride, who have one more game played than Houston, sit comfortably in the fifth place slot. The Orlando Pride are looking to push up on the standings and will give the Dash a run for their money during their Thursday matchup. Fans can expect both sides to play with a momentum to want the win.
The match is set for 6:30 CT and can be found on the NWSL’s YouTube platform.
