Houston Dash to face Portland Thorns

The Dash are looking for hope as they take on the Portland Thorns for the first time this season on Saturday.

After six straight losses and not having scored a single goal in the past six games, the Dash are scheduled to take on the Portland Thorns at home on Saturday. This matchup marks the first of two for the season and could be a huge turn for the Dash as they desperately seek to end their losing streak.

Last week, the Dash took on Sky Blue FC at Yurcak Field and continued to gain momentum throughout the match, but after an arm injury to Rebecca Moros, they fell 1-0.

The Thorns are coming to Houston after a tough loss to FC Kansas City; the loss being only one of three on the entire 2016 season so far. With eight wins and currently sit at the top of the NWSL standings, so it goes without saying that the Dash are going to have quite the physical match on the pitch against Portland.

The Dash seems to have no problem obtaining momentum, but the problem seems to lie in the consistency of keeping their momentum. So far this season, their wins have come after taking an early lead and maintaining momentum, so the Dash will look to get an early foot on the ball and hopefully go ahead early.

The Dash are running out of opportunities to hold on to hope and keep it. This match might just be their last chance at that hope. Kick off is set for 7:30 pm at BBVA Compass Stadium.
