The Houston Dash are headed to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Portland Thorns.

The Dash kept their playoff hopes alive with a win over the weekend against the Orlando Pride. The Dash got their first win against the Pride after losing to them three times this season. The Dash’s 4-2 victory over the Pride helped jump them up to seventh in the standings. Janine Beckie got the scoring started for the Dash in the 24th minute. Kealia Ohai continued her scoring streak as she got a brace in the match. Defender Poliana scored her first goal for the Dash in the 49th minute. The Dash looked like they were going to cruise to a 3-0 win until Orlando scored a goal in the 80th minute. Seven minutes later Orlando scored again when Becky Edwards was able to beat Lydia Williams. Once against the Dash defense was guilty of giving up late goals, however, they were able to hold Orlando to two.

The Thorns are coming off a 5-1 win over the Boston Breakers. Nadia Nadim scored a hat trick in the home win. Christine Sinclair scored in her first game for the Thorns since June 24. The Thorns sit in second place in the NWSL standings while the Dash sit in seventh. The Dash have to win out this season in order to have any chance at reaching the postseason.

Things kickoff at Providence Park at 9:00 pm CT on Wednesday night.
