Sunday, the Dynamo meet Chicago Fire at home in the final match of the season. The Houston Dynamo are fresh off a draw against Sporting Kansas City, gaining themselves a rare road point, as well as qualifying for playoffs for the first time since 2013.

Chicago and Houston are both looking to finish at a higher seed should they win and have other results go their way. Chicago is currently in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference with 55 points. The Dynamo sit in 5th in the Western Conference with 47 points. The race is tight for both teams, where Chicago could achieve a bye in the first round, while Houston looks to gain home-field advantage.

Last Saturday, Tyler Deric came out on top to keep a huge shutout for H-town helping his team officially qualify for playoffs while reaching a career high for saves in a match. In Chicago’s matchup, Nemanja Nikolic, MLS 2017 Golden Boot favorite, led the charge with a hat trick as the Fire barreled through the Philadelphia Union.

The Dynamo’s form has been fantastic this season as they hope to keep it rolling Sunday hopefully with new #25 Tomas Martinez continuing his recent form. However it will be no easy task to hold off this Chicago attack, who have been on fire all season. Nikolic will have eyes for nothing but the goal as he looks to pull away in the Golden Boot race. This will be a great test for Houston going into the playoffs and they know it only gets harder from here.

The game kicks off at 3:00 pm CT this Sunday.
