The Houston Dynamo announced on Friday that they have re-signed DaMarcus Beasley. The defender has reportedly agreed to a one year deal with the club after his contract with the team expired at the end of the 2016 season. His return will mark his fourth season with the club. The left-back has played in 62 games and scored two goals in orange.
“I feel that DaMarcus is the best left back in the country, and he not only has experience but also has a great level of talent,” said Dynamo Head Coach Wilmer Cabrera in a team release. “He can continue to bring that level to the team and to his teammates, and he’s motivated to do that. We’re really excited to have him back, and hopefully he starts to have an impact on the field and off of it right away.”
Beasley signed with club as a Designed Player in 2014. It is not known if he will still be a DP under this new contract. However, the team had been looking to bring him back at a lower price tag. What we do know is that we will have Beasley back in orange (and Space City Blue) for 2017.
