Carli Lloyd has agreed to a short-term deal with Manchester City that will last until June. It is believed that once her deal ends with Manchester City she will return to the NWSL and play for the Houston Dash for the remainder of their season. The deal with City is expected to be announced on Wednesday.
The Football Association Women's Super League Spring Series, which Manchester City plays in, runs from April to the beginning of June. Manchester City is among the teams in the Champions League. Quarterfinals will be played from March 22-30 with the final scheduled for June 1. The NWSL season starts in mid-April and runs until September (October if you make the playoffs...) which means Lloyd would miss a month and a half of the season, possibly more, depending on when she returns to Houston.
Lloyd has been with the Dash since 2015. She has scored nine goals and six assist during her two seasons with the club.
