Romell Quioto isn’t just impressing fans in Houston as his performance against the Seattle Sounders put him on the MLS Team of the Week. Quioto attacked the Sounders with his speed and with his dribbling while providing support to Cubo Torres and pressuring Seattle’s backline. Also appearing on the Team of the Week was Cubo Torres who was placed on the TotW bench for his quality performance. The team which featured mostly San Jose Earthquake, Orlando City SC, and Portland Timbers players had Dynamo Head Coach Wilmer Cabrera as its coach likely for besting the reigning MLS Cup champs and for how well the first half was played by the Dynamo.
Quioto was also nominated for Goal of the Week by MLSSoccer.com for his curled goal from outside the 18 yard box. Voting continues until the 9th (Thursday) and Quioto currently holds a 2 point lead over Anibal Godoy whose chipped shot for the San Jose Earthquakes was also pretty special (but the goal scoring celebration was even better).
Here’s the goal, but don’t forget to vote!
