The NWSL season is almost here so to prepare we gathered all of our Houston Dash writers to ask them about the offseason, the upcoming 2017 season and more. Each day this week we will release a new question or two that we had our staffers answer.
Who will be the breakout star for the Dash this year?
Daniel: Rachel Daly is the favorite to have a huge breakout season with the Dash, especially with the way she’s played recently for England. An absolute talent, Daly is one of the best long-range threats in the league and her impact for the Dash will likely be compounded by Carli Lloyd's absence.
Meg: I think Prince could be valuable for the defense, but honestly I would like to see Ochs get more playing time. If playing alongside others who can match her speed, I think she could have a stellar year for Houston.
Shana: There's so much pent up talent waiting to break out for the Dash that I don't know where to begin! Given the chance and a full opportunity, though, I think we will see a lot from Nichelle Prince who the Dash drafted in the third round from Ohio State. She's young, has room to make mistakes, bounce back quickly, learn from mistakes, and has quality experience in not only huge stages with the Canadian Women's National Team, but in high pressure moments. I think she will show the composure of a veteran and help lead the Dash in huge ways this season. Don't sleep on Prince.
Alicia: Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly, Rachel Daly (but we all knew that would be my answer).
