The NWSL season is almost here so to prepare we gathered all of our Houston Dash writers to ask them about the offseason, the upcoming 2017 season and more. Each day this week we will release a new question or two that we had our staffers answer.

What will the final NWSL standings look like? Where will the Dash finish?

Daniel: Houston will finish in fourth place. The Dash spent the past offseason looking to improve their defense and did so with the acquisitions of Falknor, Benites, and Van Wyk. Daly enters the season with something to prove after being left off England’s Euro 2017 squad and her upcoming play is something every Dash supporter is itching to see. If the Dash can see a leap from the four-goal mark Daly had in 2016, an improved Janine Beckie, and Kealia Ohai regaining the ridiculously good form she was in during the final stretch of last season, Houston should have enough offense to compete for a playoff spot.

Meg: Houston will be somewhere at the bottom of the table, hopefully above Washington but below Orlando.

Shana: It would be a stretch to say that the Dash are going to have minimal losses and win it all this year, right? One can dream... it's definitely a rebuilding year and we will see a lot of struggle, I think, as the team tries to push it's way back in good standings. It's hard to look at the schedule and predict exactly what the season can, should, or will look like after last season's short comings and missed opportunities, but I'm going to go way out on a flimsy limb here and say the Dash can pull it together enough to at least finish Top 4 in the NWSL standings this season.

Alicia: I think the Dash finish in the middle of the standings. This feels like a year where they just miss the playoffs, but they will be fighting for a playoff spot so all hope is not lost.

Where do you think the Dash will finish? Tell us in the comments.
