Houston Dutch Lions F.C.
The Dutch Lions had one more match before they would find out who they would be playing in the 2017 NPSL Lone Star Conference Semifinals. That match would have them traveling up to Shreveport, LA to take on the Shreveport Rafters yet again after beating them at home last week. Both teams where playing to make the playoffs as they took the pitch. It was a pretty even match through out the 90’. Nothing really happened through much of the first half but that changed halfway into the second. Matheus Goveia put the Lions on the board first scoring in the 71’. The lead didn’t hold long for the Lions when the Rafter pulled the match even in the 76’. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. After the draw the Lions dropped down to third place of the Lone Star Conference Division with a record of 6-1-3 and 21 points to finish the regular season and a 3rd seed in the playoffs. After the last match was played in the division the Lions will host Midland-Odessa F.C. July 11, 2017 at 7:00 PM. Things will be in the Lions favor since they hold a 2-0-0 record versus Midland-Odessa and a +3 goal difference.
