Another midweek game, yay! The Dynamo won’t have much time to lick their wounds following their 1-3 defeat to the Colorado Rapids last Saturday as the first road win of the season still seems out of reach. The good news is they return home to where they’ve collected a record of 7-0-2 which is among the best in MLS and they’re taking on a team that does not travel well, the Montreal Impact.
The Dynamo will be short handed several players due to international call-ups which will affect Wilmer Cabrera’s lineup decisions. Alberth Elis and Romell Quioto are currently with the Honduran National team and have already missed the game in Colorado. Oscar Boniek Garcia was also announced to be with the Honduran National team, although he was able to play with the Dynamo Saturday. It’s unclear whether he’ll be available at this time, but I have to think he won’t be given that he was called up last week. Cubo Torres was recently announced that he will be with the Mexican National Team after all, but it’s also not clear if he can play in Wednesday’s game against the Impact. Chronicle reporter Corey Roepken reported that Cubo trained with the Dynamo on Monday, but was not sure if Cubo would get to play in the game.
Erick Torres is training with the Dynamo tonight. Wilmer said the team still is not sure if Torres will play Wednesday against Montreal.

Tyler Deric is hopefully back in goal after succumbing to food poisoning which allowed Joe Willis to get the start against Colorado. While Willis made some very good saves, Colorado’s 2nd goal is at least partially to blame on Willis who rushed out, but showed some hesitation. In the back I would anticipate our usual DaMarcus Beasley – Leonardo – Adolfo Machado –A. J. DeLaGarza group, although if Wilmer Cabrera wanted to rest Beasley Dylan Remick is a capable replacement.
In the midfield I mentioned that Boniek was a bit of a question mark, should he not start I think that Alex Lima gets his starting job back with Juan David Cabezas and Ricardo Clark sitting alongside him. Up top is probably the biggest question mark because of Cubo Torres’s status. If Cubo is available I think he definitely starts, but if not then expect Mauro Manotas to be at the center forward position with Andrew Wenger and Vicente Sanchez at left and right winger.
