As if. Sunday, the Houston Dash are hosting FC Kansas City on their first ever 90’s night.
The Houston Dash are coming off of a 2-1 loss on the road to the Portland Thorns. The loss snapped the undefeated streak the team had been riding for six games. The lone goal for the Dash was scored by Carli Lloyd, just returning from USWNT duty, on a penalty kick.
After suffering a quad strain Lydia Williams is expected to be out for the next month. With Williams out the Dash gave Bianca Henninger back half of a BFF necklace as she re-signed with the club last week. Morgan Brian will miss the game due to right groin tendinitis. Caity Heap is listed on the injury report as probable with a right ankle sprain.
KC is coming off of a 2-2 draw against the Boston Breakers. The draw snapped a four game losing streak for the team. FCKC was with out Becky Sauerbrunn and Sydney Leroux both of whom will be back from National team duty to face the Dash.
If the Dash can get a win over Kansas City Sunday it would mark the first time that the club as gotten seven wins in a season. Booyah.
First Is The Worst, Second Is The Best, Third Is The One With The Hairy Chest
The Houston Dash currently sit seventh in the NWSL standings with 20 points. They are 10 points away from first place which NC Courage sit with 30 points.
Historically, FC Kansas City has been a powerhouse in the NWSL picking up bling in 2014 and 2015, but this season has been a different story. FCKC is currently dead last in the standings with only fourteen points through fifteen games. They have won just three games this season while they have lost seven total. Compared to last year when they finished the season 7-8-5.
Don’t forget to feed your tomagatchi before heading to the game!
