Hurricane Harvey is due to make landfall along the Texas coast this evening and is planning on sticking around through the weekend. Among many of the reasons why this is inconvenient is the fact that the Houston Dynamo and Houston Dash have home games at BBVA Compass Stadium this weekend. The Dynamo were originally planned to kickoff at 8 PM CT against Sporting Kansas City this Saturday with the Dash playing the North Carolina Courage at 7 PM CT Sunday.
The move to postpone these games comes at a huge relief as the safety of players, fans, and staff is the highest priority. In the past the Dynamo have been slow to give official word on postponing or delaying matches which can lead to fans getting stranded. That’s why it’s very good to hear the organization announcing with plenty of notice that the games will not be played this weekend.

The match between the Dynamo and Sporting Kansas City has been rescheduled for Wednesday, October 11th at 7 PM while the date for the game between the Dash and Courage is to be determined.
According to Dynamo Communications, tickets for both games will be valid at the new times and they advise fans unable to attend the new dates to please contact Dynamo and Dash sales offices at 713-726-GOAL Monday August 28th.
As most Houstonians know, flooding is never a fun thing to be around so please be safe out there and we hope everyone has a very dry weekend.
