The Houston Dash have traded Lydia Williams to the Seattle Reign in exchange for a second round draft pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft. The pick was aquired by Seattle from the Boston Breakers earlier today

Williams suffered a quad injury while she was with the Australian national team earlier this month. She was expected to miss four weeks with the injury.

The goalkeeper signed with the Dash in January of 2016. Williams started 15 games in 2016 and recorded one shutout and 62 saves. Williams played eight games this season for the Dash. She has played for the Australian national team since 2006.

This season Williams went from being the starter to finding herself behind Dash draftee Jane Campbell part of the way into the season after Omar Morales took over as interim coach.

On Thursday, the Dash traded Morgan Brian to Chicago for Kristie Mewis and future considerations.

The Dash face Seattle this weekend in Frisco, TX after Hurricane Harvey forced the team to play at an alternate location.
