Houston Dash acquire Lindsay Agnew from Washington Spirit

The Houston Dash announced on Tuesday that they had acquired Lindsay Agnew and the number six pick in the 2018 draft from the Washington Spirit in exchange for the third overall selection of the 2018 NWSL College Draft. The forward played in eight games for the Spirit in 2017 and tallied one assist.

Agnew was drafted in 2017 as the 19th overall pick in the NWSL College Draft bu the Spirit. The Kingston, Ontario native played college soccer for Ohio State University and was the co-captain of the team her last two seasons with the squad. Agnew played in 72 games for the Buckeyes and scored 18 goals and 19 assists.

She debuted with the Canadian Women’s National Team senior squad last January. As a youth Agnew represented Canada at the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the 2014 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She joined the Canadian youth program in 2011 and was part of the team that won a silver medal at the 2012 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship.
