Houston Dynamo draft three players on second day of MLS Draft

The Houston Dynamo drafted two players from Virginia and one from the University of San Francisco

The Houston Dynamo drafted Pablo Aguilar, Sheldon Sullivan, and Manny Padilla on Sunday. Aguilar was selected as the 59th overall pick and Sullivan with the 66th overall pick, both were selected in the third round. Padilla was the team’s fourth round selection as the 89th overall pick.

Aguliar played in 75 games with 59 starts while at the University of Virginia. He started in all 21 games his senior year. The midfielder finished his collegiate career with 16 goals and eight assists.

Sullivan, also out of the University of Virginia, is a versatile defender who can play at left back, center back and left wing. A consistent starter, Sullivan started in 70 of the 78 games he played as a Cavalier including 21 starts last season.

Fourth round draft pick Manny Padilla, out of the University of San Francisco, is a defender who started 67 of the 69 games he played in college. The team captain tallied 14 assists during his time at San Francisco, seven of which came during his senior year.

The Dynamo kick off preseason training camp on Tuesday, January 23 at Houston Sports Park.
