With the 28th overall pick, the Houston Dash selected Virginia forward Veronica Latsko in the third round of the 2018 NWSL draft. Alongside fellow draftee Kimberly Keever, Latsko joins a deep Dash attack led by new addition Christen Press, Kealia Ohai, and Rachel Daly.
Latsko steadily improved in each season at Virginia culminating with five game-winning goals and first-team All-ACC honors in 2017. She finished her collegiate career with 26 goals and 14 assists for a total of 66 points in 93 appearances.
The Venetia, Pa. native is the 12th player in the program's history to be taken in the NWSL Draft. Virginia has earned more selections than any other school. Houston also drafted Haley Hanson (No. 7), Keever (No. 12), and Sarah Shimer (No. 33) on Thursday.

“Thank you so much to the Houston Dash,” Latsko said in a Virginia press release. “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity you’ve given me. I never would have been able to come so far without the help and support of all of my family, coaches and teammates from Pittsburgh to Virginia. I can’t thank you all enough. Dash on!”
