The Houston Dash announced on Monday that five players will be going on loan to Australia’s W-league. Amber Brooks, Veronica Latsko, Sofia Huerta, Clare Polkinghorne, and Kyah Simon will all play in the W-league during the NWSL off season.

Australian Kyah Simon is no stranger to the W-league having played for Melbourne City FC and Sydney FC. She played for Melbourne City FC in 2017 and will be joining them on this loan stint as well. She won the 2018 W-League Grand Final with Melbourne back in February.

Defender Polkinghorne will join Brisbane Roar for her 10th season with the club. She has also served as the team’s captain. In 2017, she became the first player in league history to play in 100 regular-season games.

As previously announced Huerta will be going on loan to Sydney FC. In 2016, she went on loan to Adelaide United during the off season where she scored eight goals and had five assists in 12 games. Huerta scored five goals and had four assists in 12 games for the Houston Dash this season.

Brooks and Latsko will be heading to Adelaide United together for their off season loan. The loan stint will be the first time in the W-league for both players. Brooks has been an anchor for the Houston Dash since joining the club in ahead of the 2016 season. The 2018 season was Latsko’s rookie season after she was drafted out of the University of Virginia in January. The forward scored four goals and had two assists this season for the Dash.

All five of the players will return to the Dash ahead of the 2019 season.
