Who should start for the Houston Dynamo against the Seattle Sounders?

The Houston Dynamo have dropped back-to-back games where they conceded four goals. First they let in four against the Seattle Sounders which ended the dim playoff aspirations for Houston and then they leaked in four against Los Angeles Football Club. The Dynamo are playing for pride at this point and have a chance to get revenge for the loss to the Sounders as they host the Seattle club in the final home game at BBVA Compass Stadium this year.

Head Coach Wilmer Cabrera will have his players back who were with their international teams including the fire power of Romell Quioto and Alberth Elis. While some players such as Juan David Cabezas and A.J. DeLaGarza returned from injury over the last few weeks they’ve picked up a few more knocks along the way including losing Alejandro Fuenmayor to concussion and Eric Alexander to a hamstring injury.

With this being the final home game of the season, but with the club not having much to play for I think Cabrera will have a fairly strong starting XI with some younger players mixed in. Up top I think we see the trio of Quioto, Mauro Manotas, and Elis, although I would expect Ronaldo Peña to get a lot of minutes off the bench.

In the midfield I would expect Juan David Cabezas to start in the deepest midfield position with Eric Alexander out and Darwin Cerén suspended due to yellow card accumulation. In front of him I’m going to go out on a limb and say Eric Bird gets minutes, but we could see Oscar Boniek García start. In the central attacking role expect Tomás Martínez getting lots of minutes.

Along the back line I think DaMarcus Beasley starts at left back. Normally given the state of the season I’d start Adam Lundqvist over Beasley here, but I think Beasley starts in the final home game of the season. In central defense Philippe Senderos and Fuenmayor are both listed as OUT on the injury report. I think Cabrera looks to Adolfo Machado and Kevin Garcia to start with A.J. DeLaGarza at right back and Joe Willis in goal.
