The Houston Dynamo are coming off a disappointing run to the regular season and are ready to turn things around in 2019. Yes, they won the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup which is a major victory for the club which will see them participate in CONCACAF Champions League, but not qualifying for the playoffs is a big deal and hopefully they’ll turn things around in the upcoming year. With the offseason being a little shorter due to Champions League action in February, there isn’t much turnaround before the MLS regular season begins. The league announced home openers earlier today and the Dynamo will kick things off against Western Conference opponent Real Salt Lake on Saturday March 2nd at 5 PM CT.

Last season the Dynamo finished 9th in the West while RSL finished in the 6th and final playoff spot in large part due to the Dynamo besting the LA Galaxy in our final game of the regular season. Mauro Manotas made sure to let RSL aware of the gift we gave them in a tweet.

Houston has a great 8-1-4 record in home openers and last year topped eventual MLS Cup champions Atlanta United FC to the tune of 4-0. The full season will be released in January and with the Dynamo making moves in the offseason already there’s a lot to look forward to in 2019.
