On Wednesday night the Houston Dash take on the Chicago Red Stars for the second time this season. The Red Stars play host this time as the Dash travel to Chicago for their first road game of the season.

The two teams faced each other on March 27 to kick off the 2018 season. The game ended in a 1-1 disappointing draw after the Dash gave up a late goal. Kimberly Keever scored for the Dash in the 38th minute of the game and it looked like they would start their season with a win. Then in stoppage time Taylor Comeau scored to tie the game. The Red Stars were without six players that game, as Vanessa Di Bernardo, Julie Ertz, Casey Short, Rosie White and Yuki Nagasato were out with injuries and Sam Kerr was absent on international duty for Australia.

The Dash are coming off a long breaking after playing their last game on March 30 against Utah. Another game that finished in a draw for the ladies but this time no one found the net as the game ended 0-0. Jane Campbell was huge part of the Dash’s success in the draw making multiple saves that game. In two games this season Campbell has an 86% save percentage.

Chicago, however, has a short turnaround after playing on Saturday evening. They won 1-0 over the Utah Royals. A 27th minute goal from Danielle Colaprico was all it took for Chicago to walk away with three points. After the Wednesday game against the Dash the team has another game against Sky Blue FC on Saturday. The three games in seven days schedule will have Chicago rotating and resting some of their players even as they are already thin due to injuries. Vanessa Di Bernardo, Julie Ertz, Casey Short, and Rosie White are still out with injuries. Yuki Nagasato is the only player to have come off the injury list since the opening game.

For the Dash’s part they have just one player out, Kyah Simon. The Aussie is gone for international duty as is Chicago’s Sam Kerr.

The game kicks off Wednesday night at 6:30 pm CT.
