Wednesday night, the Houston Dash host the Orlando Pride on 70’s night. The Dash are looking to use this game to jump start a win streak while Orlando is looking for back-to-back wins.

The Dash started off their game against the Seattle Reign with a goal in the 12th minute. Amber Brooks scored on a corner kick from Sofia Huerta. Brooks beat a defender to the ball sending her header into the back of the net. But it was to be all down hill from there for the Dash. They allowed the Reign to score once in the first half and two more times in the second half. The Dash were unable to shut down Megan Rapinoe who scored a goal and had two assists in the game.

The Orlando Pride are coming off of a 2-1 win over the Washington Spirit. Sydney Leroux and Marta both scored in the game. The second half goal from Marta displayed her deft ability for getting the ball around defenders and into the net. The team out shot the Spirit 31 to 16.

After facing each other two time this season the Dash and the Pride have each won a game. The Pride won their April 22 game 1-0 while the Dash won when the two faced each other just two weeks ago. The Dash gave up a goal to Alex Morgan in the 22nd minute of the mid-week game. Kealia Ohai scored in the 79th minute of the game to tie things up. Sofia Huerta scored in the 83rd minute on a penalty kick to give the Dash the win.

The Pride are currently in third place in the NWSL standings just one point behind second place Seattle Reign. The Dash continue to struggle to pull themselves out of seventh place in the standings. With 17 points they are eight points back from fourth place, the final spot to make the playoffs. A loss to Orlando would seriously hurt their chances for making the playoffs.

The game kicks off at 7:30 pm CT on Wednesday.
