Saturday, the Houston Dash are on the road to play the North Carolina Courage in their final game of the regular season. If the Dash win it would be the first time in franchise history that they will finish a season with a winning record, but beating the Courage is a tall order. They have lost only one game this season, 1-0 to the Utah Royals.

The Dash and Courage first faced each other back in April when the Courage visited BBVA Compass Stadium. They left Houston with a 2-0 victory after in the 3rd and 48th minutes of the game. The Dash came close to beating them the second time they faced each other in June with a 1-1 draw. Kealia Ohai scored in the 49th minute and it looked like the Dash would hold on for three points. However, Frannie Crouse scored for NCC in the 80th minute to save her team from their first loss of the season. That loss would come in their next game against the Royals.

While the Dash may not have made the playoffs it is still a season of accomplishments for the squad. The 2018 season has had the most victories in a single season for the club, regarless of Saturday’s outcome. They currently have 32 points which is the most in any season. The team has scored 35 goals for the most goals scored in a season for the club. Rachel Daly leads the team with 10 goals and sits in fourth in the league for goals scored this season.

The NWSL was off last week due to the International break. The Dash had six players that were part of their national teams. Nichelle Prince, Allysha Chapman, and Lindsay Agnew were all part of Canada’s friendlies. Haley Hanson and Jane Campbell were part of the USWNT’s U-23 team that won the 2018 Nordic Cup. While Rachel Daly scored for England in their 6-0 win over Kazakhstan. The Courage will be without McCall Zerboni, the midfielder broke her elbow while playing for the USWNT.

Things kick off in Cary, NC at 6 pm CT.
