The Houston Dynamo announced today their preseason schedule ahead of the 2019 MLS season. The Dynamo have been active this offseason in shoring up their roster and Head Coach Wilmer Cabrera will use the preseason to evaluate players as the team takes shape.

Players will report to the team next Monday, January 14th and training will begin the next day. The first preseason games will be against the Dynamo’s USL affiliate Rio Grande Valley FC Toros and be held Saturday the 26th and Tuesday the 29th of January. There is an intrasquad scrimmage scheduled for February 2nd before the team leaves to compete in the Mobile Mini Sun Cup.

The Dynamo won the Mobile Mini Sun Cup in 2017 and were runners up last season to the New England Revolution. Houston is slated to play the 6th against Minnesota United FC, the 9th against the Seattle Sounders, and the 13th against Sporting Kansas City.

Following the trip to Tucson, Arizona the Dynamo will return to Houston before getting ready for their first CONCACAF Champions League match since 2013 which will be February 19th in Guatemala as they take on C.D. Guastatoya. The last game before the home opener against Real Salt Lake on March 2nd will be the second leg of our matchup with Guastatoya as the Dynamo will host the Guatemalan side on Tuesday February 26th.

Overall, it’s a pretty packed preseason schedule with Houston essentially playing two games each week all the way until the regular season begins. What games are you most excited to see? Let us know in the comments below.
