On fake draft day the Dynamo went with offensive power.

This week the MLS will be holding their annual SuperDraft of incoming college talent. To prepare for the Draft the soccer blogs at SBN got together to hold their annual Mock Draft. For this year’s draft the Dynamo hold the number eight selection which means that Dynamo Theory got to select eighth.

Our approach to the draft was simple take the best player available.

With the eighth pick of the SBN Mock SuperDraft Dynamo Theory selects Griffin Dorsey.

A forward, Dorsey signed a Generation Adidas contract leaving college after his sophomore year to go pro. Salaries for GA players do not count against the team’s budget which is great for the Dynamo as they have Champions League to consider this season. Dorsey scored five goals and tallied five assists during 2018. In 2017 he scored three goals and had six assists. He is also a member of the USMNT U-20 team and was part of the team that won the CONCACAF Championship.

While he has played as a forward in college Top Drawer Soccer projects him to be an outside attacker/winger in MLS. The Colorado native is skilled off the ball and can help provide depth for a squad that needs it.
