Every major team sport league in America gets to enjoy a lengthy offseason. MLB and the NFL even get over 150 days of rest every year. Soccer fans luckily do not have to wait as long for MLS action with the league routinely having shorter offseasons. The MLS has already announced that opening day will be February 29th with an eight game slate. That’s only 109 days between the 2019 MLS Cup and 2020 opening day, which makes it the shortest offseason among the five major professional leagues. After teasing us all and releasing the home opener for every team, the MLS decided to not keep us waiting any longer and revealed the entire schedule for the 2020 season.

Channel 57 The Kube will once again be the main Dynamo TV broadcaster as well as ESPN+ for the out of towners. Houston will be on UniMas or Univision six times as well.
Some key matchups to watch out for:
February 29th- Opening day at home against the LA Galaxy.
April 11th- First ever game against Inter Miami CF at home.
May 16th/ August 20th- Rivalry games against FC Dallas.
May 23rd- Joe Willis’ return in the first ever game against Nashville SC.
September 27th- Home finale against Sporting Kansas City
October 6th- Season Finale at Minnesota United FC
There will also be six weeks with multiple games, so Tab Ramos will have to make sure to manage the roster to avoid burnout. For Houstonians, the main thing to note is that there are only four afternoon home games and all four of them are before Cinco De Mayo which means the heat will hopefully be limited this season. Either way, this season will be a unique and exciting one indeed.
