Merry Christmas from Dynamo Theory

It’s the most wonderful time of the year.

MLS: LA Galaxy at Houston Dynamo Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

All I want for Christmas is a new Dynamo goalkeeper or whatever Mariah Carey said. Ms. Carey obviously has a pulse on what Dynamo fans have been on the lookout for. Since letting go of Tyler Deric and trading Joe Willis, the Dynamo have been linked to multiple goalkeepers to take the reigns. Unfortunately, this Christmas the Dynamo have failed to reach an agreement with any new keepers. For that matter, there hasn’t been many additions to the roster whatsoever after a fast beginning that seemed promising after the hire of Tab Ramos.

What about the Dash? They’ve had an even quieter offseason. Outside of re-signing Haley Hanson and Veronica Latsko, the front office hasn’t done much at all. With that being said, do you hear what I hear? That’s the sound of our wishes and desires. Ms. Carey told her mate what she wanted for Christmas and it’s time we told our Matt (Jordan).

Replace the lost players!

For both the Dynamo and Dash, there needs to be improvements to the rosters. Both teams simply didn’t have the depth to compete in their respective leagues to consistently win games. The Dynamo have lost players like AJ DeLaGarza and Romell Quioto in free agency, while the Dash have released Adriana Calderon. These were all reasonable departures, however it is necessary for both teams to not only replace these players but upgrade the positions altogether.

Sign new players!

As I said before, both teams need to build depth. The only way to do this is to add quality players to the roster. The Dash don’t have a farm system to pull players from and with the NSWL being the top league in the world, all teams are trying to pull the same players. While for the Dynamo, quality scouting will be the team’s biggest strength to add to the roster. With Tab Ramos being known for his development, it’ll be likely that he will want to build up a strong academy system as well as improving the RGV talent pool from him to pull from as well. Both teams need to make quality signings to improve the rosters to compete and make the playoffs in both leagues.

Win championships!

The holy grail that all MLS teams aspire to attain. The Dynamo have won twice and been in the final battle o two more occasions, this organization knows what it needs to do to be able to get back, it’s just a matter of if they’re willing to do it. It’s time for Gabriel Brener, Ben Guill, Oscar De La Hoya, Jake Silverstein and James Harden to put their money where their mouth is and win big.
