Wilmer Carera hasn’t had almost three full seasons with the Houston Dynamo. His first season ended with a winning record and the team’s first playoff appearance in four years. His second season ended with a U.S. Open Cup championship for the first time in organization history. His third season looks like it will end without a job.
Can confirm, as first reported by @DEPORTETOTALUSA, .@wclsoccer13’s dismissal as head coach of the @HoustonDynamo. He was relieved of his duties this afternoon. Players, staff have been informed. Sources tell me Davy Arnaud assumes the post of interim HC effective immediately.— Lester Gretsch (@LesterDeportes) August 13, 2019
Cabrera ends his Dynamo tenure with a 32-39-22 record and a US Open cup championship.
Former MLS midfielder and former US national team member Davy Arnaud will take over as the interim head coach. Arnaud hasn’t been a Dynamo assistant for the past three seasons and a DC United assistant before.
