Houston Dynamo legend, and current Fox Sports broadcaster, Stuart Holden will return to Houston this week for the grand opening of mini-pitches at Herman Brown Park.

Holden will be in town Thursday afternoon to open the new small soccer fields at the park located in Northeast Houston. A portion of the funds generated from the Kick In For Houston charity match, organized by Holden at BBVA Stadium in 2017, paid for the construction of the mini pitches. Holden and a host of celebrities and former players raised money for Hurricane Harvey relief after the devastating storm hit Houston in August of 2017.

In December, Dynamo co-owners Jake Silverstein and Ben Guill announced their intentions to to build 15 mini-pitches across the Houston area over the next 5 years. Former Dynamo captain DaMarcus Beasley is partnering with Silverstein, Guill and the U.S. Soccer Foundation to identify areas with limited access to “safe places to play.”
