MLSsoccer.com Predicts Where Dynamo Will Finish in 2020 Season

The folks at MLS are not too high on Houston this season.

This morning, Major League Soccer’s website MLSsoccer.com released their season previews for each team. You can read the full Dynamo preview, written by Jason Le Miere, here. At the end of the preview a number of analysts gave their predictions on where Houston would finish in the Western Conference in 2020. Let’s just say, they don’t have high hopes for the Dynamo.

Senior Editor Ben Baer, MLS Analyst Matt Doyle, TSN’s Kristian Jack, and Frederic Lord of TVA Sports all picked the Dynamo to finish 12th in the West. 12th, in what is now a 13 team conference. Yikes. Baer even has expansion team Nashville SC finishing ahead of Houston.

Former Dynamo forward Calen Carr has the team improving slightly from last season, finishing in 9th place. But, don’t plan your boycott of MLSsoccer just yet. Two people have the Dynamo making the playoffs in 2020.

Marcelo Balboa, of MLS and USMNT fame and current Univision broadcaster, has Houston sneaking in to the postseason with a 7th place finish. Another former player, Charlie Davies has the Dynamo a tad higher, finishing in 6th.

It looks like the Dynamo are going to prove a lot of people wrong if they are to make the playoffs in their first year under Tab Ramos. Anything can happen in MLS, we’ve seen teams make huge leaps, so who’s going to be right? We’ll have to check back on this late October.

What do you think? Are the MLS experts way off on their picks here, or do you tend to agree with them?
