Dynamo Finish Up Preseason: 3 Things to Watch

Houston takes on Columbus in last tune-up before season starts February 29.

MLS: Columbus Crew SC at Houston Dynamo Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

One preseason game remains for the Dynamo in Tucson before they head home to kick off the 2020 MLS season. Houston will take on Columbus Crew SC today at 6:00 PM central time. The game will be streaming in the Houston area on HoustonDynamo.com/Live. With the final dress rehearsal of the season, here are three things to watch to get you ready for the regular season to begin.

Stay Healthy

It’s the last preseason game. The last thing any team wants is an injury. The Dynamo are much deeper this season but you never want a player to go down on the eve of the season. Just get through this one healthy. (No, I am not jinxing anyone.)

Marko Maric, the Wall

Maric has allowed one goal in Tucson, a header by his teammate Boniek Garcia. There were questions around Maric’s signing but the Croatian has done well to answer them in preseason. After two big saves against Real Salt Lake Wednesday, let’s see what the new keeper can do for an encore (assuming he plays).

One Eye On the Galaxy

Columbus will be the team on the other side of the field tonight but don’t blame the Dynamo if they have one eye on the LA Galaxy. The Dynamo and Galaxy have a long history of huge games and with the star power LA brings to town (Chicharito, Pavon, etc.) Houston will be amped up for their home opener. If you don’t have tickets yet for next week, get them.

What else do you want to see from the team? Are you impressed with the preseason so far? Let us know in the comments.
