You’ve seen the rebuttals, now you get to vote! In the absence of soccer and fantasy sports the Dynamo Theory writers chose to have a fun “Who can pick the best” for the ultimate Houston Dynamo five-a-side and we chose it in a classic fantasy serpentine style voting mechanic. Here is a quick reminder of who makes up our teams:
Team Cristian’s side: Tally Hall (GK), Adam Lundqvist (DF), Matías Vera (MF), Brian Mullan (MF), Brian Ching (FW)
Team Cristian’s side boasts a well balanced, but hard working team with Lundqvist being capable of pushing forward and providing set piece assistance. Vera and Mullan are excellent ball winners and will provide support to the recently nominated greatest Dynamo player of all time in Brian Ching.
Team Gribbs’s side: Joe Willis (GK), Eddie Robinson (DF), Ricardo Clark (MF), Brad Davis (MF), Mauro Manotas (FW)
Toughness is the name of the game here with Eddie and Rico making it difficult to break down with Davis supplying Manotas with support from all over the pitch. This is a team that will not be easy to break down.
Team Dustyn’s side: Tyler Deric (GK), DaMarcus Beasley (DF), Oscar Boniek García (MF), Alberth Elis (FW), Giles Barnes (FW)
The most technically gifted side, Dustyn’s team has wheels and will be difficult to chase down. Perhaps a little light on the defensive side, this side can make up for it with its goal scorers who are talented in their own right, but also are playmakers who can set up for each other.
Team Albie’s side: Pat Onstad (GK), Corey Ashe (DF/MF), Geoff Cameron (DF/MF), Dwayne De Rosario (FW), Will Bruin (FW)
Albie’s team is easily the most versatile with Ashe and Cameron capable of pushing up or staying back to defend. DeRo and Bruin likewise are physical and impose their will against other defenders.
We think all of our teams would proudly represent the Houston Dynamo and would do well on their own, but we need you to help us figure out which is the best!
Which of our writers has the ultimate five-a-side Houston Dynamo squad?
