Ariel Lassiter traded to Inter Miami

Houston has traded the Costa Rican attacker to Miami for $100K in General Allocation Money.

The Houston Dynamo have traded forward/midfield Ariel Lassiter to Inter Miami in exchange for $100K in General Allocation Money. New General Manager Pat Onstad is continuing to shape the roster, even in the absence of a head coach.

Lassiter was acquired by the Dynamo on loan in August 2020 from Costa Rican club Alajuelense. He scored twice in his Dynamo debut but never was able to reach that level for the remainder of his career in Houston. The Dynamo made Lassiter’s deal permanent last December and he made 19 appearances for the club during the 2021 season.

With Lassiter now gone the Dynamo still have a number of wingers on the roster heading in to 2022. Corey Baird, Mateo Bajamich, Griffin Dorsey, Nico Lemoine, Tyler Pasher, Fafa Picault, and Daniel Rios can all play along the front 3 (if the Dynamo still play that under a new coach) and Onstad will still be looking to make a number of moves to strengthen a team that finished in last place in the Western Conference for the second straight season.
