Dynamo and Dash play Among Us, Sean Davis heading to Nashville, and Romelu Lukaku drama at Chelsea

MLS: New York Red Bulls at Nashville SC Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to another edition of the Breakfast Links. It’s the final day of 2021, we’ll see you on the other side (in 2022!)

Houston

There is still nothing officially announced by the Dynamo about a head coaching hire. We’re quite sure that Paulo Nagamura is the new Dynamo head coach (like 99.9% sure), but we’re all just awaiting the official word.

The Dynamo and Dash spent time playing Among Us together to help raise money for Boys & Girls Clubs Houston and Kids Meals Inc. Red is always sus (looking at you, Frisco).

Make sure to check out the Dynamo Theory podcast if you haven’t already. Our latest episode is now out everywhere you get your podcasts.

MLS

New York Red Bulls captain Sean Davis announced he is leaving the club. Tom Bogert is reporting that Davis has signed with Nashville SC. Davis signed a homegrown contract with the Red Bulls in 2014 and has spent his whole career with the New Jersey club. He now joins a Nashville side that continues to build a roster that is on the cusp of competing for trophies.

MLS: Real Salt Lake at Sporting Kansas City William Purnell-USA TODAY Sports

The rich getting richer? Sources have reported that former Real Salt Lake Designated Player Albert Rusnak is being pursued by the Seattle Sounders. Seattle is reportedly trying to sign Rusnak to a TAM-level contract. The Slovak attacker would add more firepower to an already potent Sounders offense, as the team looks for its third MLS Cup.

Around the World

Manchester United capped off a tumultuous year with a 3-1 win over Burnley on Thursday afternoon. Ralf Rangnick is unbeaten since taking the interim manager job and Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 14th goal in all competitions since rejoining the Red Devils in August.

Romelu Lukaku is not happy at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel. Or is he? Maybe he isn’t or maybe the interview was given a few weeks ago, who really knows anymore in the soap opera that is world football? This off the field drama just adds to all the ups and downs Chelsea have experienced so far this Premier League season.
